Floors we sand

We sand solid hardwood, engineered wood, parquet and softwood floorboards. That covers an oak kitchen floor, a pine floor in a period house, a parquet hall and everything between.

Sand & Seal or Scrub & Reseal

Sand & Seal is a complete sand and finish. It suits floors that show wear or need their colour restored.

Scrub & Reseal restores lost sheen by removing light surface scratches and refinishing. Deeper scratches and gouges need a Sand & Seal. We will tell you which one your floor needs when we see it.

How we work

  • Assess. We look at your floor, talk through what you want and recommend the right approach.
  • Sand and prepare. Our team sands and prepares the floor to a high standard.
  • Finish. We apply a durable, attractive finish to protect the floor for years to come.

Homes and commercial floors

Most of our domestic work is in Hexham and across Northumberland. We also sand school halls, sports halls and other commercial floors across the UK. See examples in our project gallery.

If your boards also show signs of damage, read about floor restoration. If you have found small holes and dust, see woodworm treatment.

Questions about floor sanding

Do you sand floors in Hexham?

Yes. Hexham is where we are based, and we cover homes across Northumberland. Call 0143 47 23 073 to talk about your floor.

Can every floor be sanded?

Most solid timber floors can be sanded. With engineered wood it depends on the thickness of the top layer, so we check before we quote.

What is the difference between Sand & Seal and Scrub & Reseal?

Sand & Seal is a complete sand and finish for worn floors. Scrub & Reseal removes light surface scratches and restores sheen. Deeper scratches and gouges need a Sand & Seal.

Will the work disrupt my home?

Customers tell us we are polite and tidy and cause little disruption. We plan the work around you and explain what to expect when we quote.

How do I get a quote?

Call us or email accounts@floorsandology.com with a few details and photos of the floor, and we will come back to you.
